MSC Industrial Supply Co. Inc. Presented with Outstanding Corporation Award at Philanthropy Day 2010


FARMINGDALE, NY – Sept 8 – The Association of Fundraising Professionals Long Island Chapter (AFPLI) is pleased to announce that MSC Industrial Supply Co, Inc., based in Melville, NY will be honored as a recipient of the Outstanding Corporation Award. This award recognizes a corporation that demonstrates outstanding commitment through financial support and activity that encourages and motivates others to respond philanthropically to the Long Island community of not-for-profit organizations. MSC Industrial Supply Co. Inc.’s accomplishments will be celebrated at the Awards Luncheon of Philanthropy Day 2010 on Friday, November 19th at a new location, the Huntington Hilton, 598 Broad Hollow Road Melville, NY, 11747.

Since its founding by Sidney Jacobson in 1941, MSC Industrial Supply Co. Inc. has set the industry standard for quality, selection, and customer service; making the company one of the nation’s leading distributors of metalworking & maintenance, repair and operating supplies. Part of that mission is the company’s commitment to serving the communities where we live and work. Development for the Dominican Sisters of Amityville. “This year we are pleased to present an especially dynamic group of honorees, and we are proud to recognize their efforts and celebrate their accomplishments.”

Philanthropy Day is celebrated in November in cities across America. Fundraising professionals, board members, business leaders, community activists and individuals gather for professional development and to honor their leaders. Long Island’s Philanthropy Day is one of the largest one-day fundraising conferences in the country and regularly attracts more than 700 attendees and 60 exhibitors, with the highlight of the day being the Awards Luncheon.
